How to Add Quick Parts to an Email in Outlook

In Microsoft Outlook 2007 you can save blocks of text that you frequently send in email as a "quick part." After a quick part is created, it can be added anywhere in the message body of an email you are composing.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2007
  1. Step 1

    Start Microsoft Outlook 2007 and click the "New" button on the Standard toolbar in Outlook to open a new untitled message onto the screen.

  2. Step 2

    Complete the "To" and "Subject" lines in the header portion of the email message. Write the email message in the body of the email.

  3. Step 3

    Click to place an insertion point in the message body where you want to add the quick part.

  4. Step 4

    Choose the "Insert" tab at the top of the email message. Locate the "Text" section of the Insert ribbon.

  5. Step 5

    Push the "Quick Parts" button and a drop-down list will display the quick parts that have been created.

  6. Step 6

    Select the quick part from the drop-down list and it will appear where in the email message at the insertion point.

  7. Step 7

    Finish typing the email message, if necessary, and click the "Send" button to send the email containing the quick part.

Tips & Warnings
  • The "To" and "Subject" lines of an email must be completed to access the "Quick Parts" content.
