How to Make Exfoliating Coffee Facial Scrub

Sometimes your face just needs a pick-me-up. What better way to do it than with coffee, nature's ultimate answer to weary bodies and minds. This exfoliating coffee scrub revitalizes and rejuvenates your skin. The treatment sloughs away dead skin cells and tightens pores and acts as a natural toner for your face. Use this scrub at the end of a hard week or the beginning of a busy day to wash away your skin's stress.

Things You'll Need

  • 1/4 cup used coffee grounds
  • 2 to 4 pinches sea salt
  • 1 egg white
  • Washcloth
  • Moisturizing lotion

Combine the coffee grounds, sea salt and egg white in a bowl. Mix well.

Wash your face with warm water and pat it dry. Apply the coffee mixture to your face, steering clear of your eyes and hairline and massaging it into your skin.

Let the scrub dry for about 20 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water, gently scrubbing the coffee mixture into your skin with a washcloth.

Dry your face. Apply moisturizer to your face if you are prone to dry skin or if your skin feels exceptionally tight.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't have used coffee grounds, pour boiling water into 1/4 cup of dry coffee grounds until it makes a thick paste. Let it cool and seep for about 15 minutes, then proceed.
  • Do not use this mask if you are allergic to eggs.
