1
Find the appropriate piercing needle to use. You will generally want to use a 14-inch gauge piercing needle to pierce an eyebrow. These can be bought online, from eBay, or from many tattoo or piercing shops. Online shopping is the best, because you can generally find piercing kits that have everything you need. A sewing needle of the same size can also be used, and can be easily purchased at most stores.

2
Determine the area you will be piercing. While the typical eyebrow piercing is done at the outer edge of the eyebrow, many people would like it done further in. Carefully discuss the place that you will be piercing with the person beforehand to ensure that no mistakes are made.

3
Sterilize the needle with rubbing alcohol, always handling it with clean rubber gloves. Allow the needle to dry on a clean paper towel.
-
4
Use another sheet of paper towel to wipe off the area of the person that you will be piercing with a bit of rubbing alcohol, being careful to not drip alcohol into the eyes. Again, keep your gloves on to do this.
-
5
Have the person you are piercing sit in a sturdy chair, straight up and with their hands to the side. Any stray hair should be pulled back during the piercing to keep it from getting in the way.
-
6
Take the needle in one hand, and use the other hand to gently pull out the area you will be piercing above the eyebrow. Set the tip of the needle gently on the spot that you will be piercing, and maneuver the skin between your fingers so that the needle can be pushed straight down and through the skin on the other side.
-
7
When the person is ready, quickly but firmly push the needle down in to the skin and out the other side. You will want to do this part as quickly as possible to cause the least amount of pain; however, you must do it with a steady hand. You will want the needle to go under the skin, leaving about ¼ inch between the holes.
-
8
Once the needle is in, pick up the eyebrow jewelry you plan to use. Pull the needle out of the skin, and then immediately push the jewelry into the hole that was made. You may need to gently wiggle the needle as you are pulling it out.
-
9
Finish up by cleaning the area with soap and water, and rinsing well.
-
10
Frequently turn and move the jewelry for 2 to 4 weeks so that no infection or excess pus appears. Any that does occur, and this is normal, should be wiped off with a clean towel or washrag. The area must be washed daily with soap and water to avoid infection.

At step 8, the jewlery should be inserted into the pointy side of the needle before its pulled out, so that the jewlery is in place when the needle is pulled out, a much smoother way to do it =) -
