Step 1
Log on to groups.yahoo.com. If you are not already a user, you will need to sign up by clicking on “Sign up” at the top of the page.

Browse through the groups that already exist by clicking on a topic. Search through the list of groups that match the topic you are interested in. To narrow your choices, you can type a subject into the search box labeled “Find a Yahoo Group”.

Click “Join this Group” once you find a group that you want to join. You will then complete a short personal-information page. Click on “Home,” and you will see the list of your groups to the left. Click on one to open up the group.

Within a group, click on "Messages" to view messages by other members. In this part of Yahoo Groups, you can learn from others or reply to their messages with your own helpful ideas. Click on “Files” and type a keyword into the search box to view topics already discussed on your Yahoo Group.

Add photos to your own photo box on your yahoo group. Be aware that this can be seen by anyone. Use Yahoo Groups Calendar, located within your group page, to add important dates and functions.

Start a Yahoo Group of your own by clicking on “Start a Group.” This will bring you to a three-step page. The first step is categorizing: Choose a group category. It may take more than three or four clicks through subcategories until you narrow it down to a more detailed listing.

Click “Place my group here.” The next step is to describe your group. This entails choosing the name of the group as it will appear on your group page, choosing a group email address and writing a short descriptive paragraph representing your group.

Select your Yahoo profile and email address. Either choose from an existing address or create a new one. One of the best things about Yahoo Groups is that, whether you create a group yourself or just join one, you can have messages from other members sent right to your email box so you don’t miss a thing.
