How to Get Tickets to TV Show Tapings
If you want to be part of the action and join a TV taping as an audience member, this is easily accomplished. Most shows tape either in Los Angeles or New York, so plan to get tickets for a time when you will be in one of those two locations. The price can't be beat as TV tickets are free, so it's a great way find entertainment when money is tight.

Order in advance. Certain shows are extremely popular and you have to sign up for tickets months ahead of time. There are a number of online ticket brokers that offer tickets to a variety of shows. Some allow you to print tickets using your home computer, while others add your name to a master list. In this instance, you will be required to bring a photo ID to the tape day. You will receive an e-mail confirmation.

Be prompt. If the taping says the show begins taping at 11 AM, people will be lined up much earlier than that. Studios overbook tickets to make certain they have a full audience, so if you are the last person in line, even if you have a ticket, you may not get inside. Come early, bring a bottle of water and snack and prepare to make friends in line with the other 100 people who would stand in line for an hour to see a game show being filmed.

Tips & Warnings
For very popular shows, plan to request tickets at least 3 months in advance.
Read age limits, as some shows do not permit children under age 12 to be a part of a studio audience.
Leave your cell phone locked in your glove box.
Arrive with enough time to find parking.
Don't be late, even if you have a ticket you can be bumped.
