How to Tie a Jiu Jitsu Belt
Tying a Jiu Jitsu belt is not hard to do, but takes a lot of practice before you do not have to really concentrate on what you are doing. However, after a couple of times of practice, you will be tying it without even thinking about it.

1
Taking the belt with both hands, grab the ends and hold the belt evenly around your waist. Begin by taking one end of the belt and place it right below your belly button. Wrap the rest of the belt around your waist. The belt should be able to wrap around your waist two times.

Secure the belt. After wrapping the belt around your waist you should have two ends that are hanging downward. Take the end that is on the left and bring it across the end that is on the right. The end on the left will then be tucked under the belt closest to you and then brought back around to the front. Again both ends will now be pointing down. This movement will help keep the belt in place while you begin to tie your knot.

3
Make a knot. While holding both of the ends in your hands point them straight out in front of you, making the knof easier to tie. Take the left end and angle it toward the right end. The right end will then be placed over the top of the left end and back up from the bottom. When the right end is brought back up from the bottom you can pull the know tight.

4
Straighten the belt. After you have completed the knot, you will then need to straighten up the belt. Most of the time the belt is not in the middle when you have completed the knot. Make sure the knot is right under your belly button. When you start the Jiu Jitsu training, your belt will be messed up many times. When this happens just adjust the knot and perform the same movement as discussed in step 3.

Tips & Warnings
Sometimes the tighter the belt is, is not always the most comfortable way to wear the belt. Of course, this will be up to personal preference but you may want to start with the belt slightly loose at first.
