How to Make a Paper Whirligig

A whirligig is something that twirls in the wind. It can be made of various materials and is usually seen hanging from a porch or tree where the wind can make it twist and spin.If you're looking for an easy summertime craft for the kids, this is it.   • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Hole puncher
  • String
  • Crayons, markers, color pencils or paint

Instructions

      Decorate the paper plate with any design you like. It can be different colors or all one color. Get creative!

      Cut the paper plate into a spiral pattern. Start at the edge and cut in a spiral toward the center.

      Punch a hole in the center of the plate.

    • 4

      Tie the string through the hole in the center.

    • 5

      Hang the whirligig up and let the wind twirl it around, or hold the string and run with it, watching it spin!
