Have a 15 year old who constantly goes online to not so nice places? With a few simple steps you can add a simple deterrent that could keep the surfing of filthy material under control.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Every 15 year-old knows how to delete the internet history list (tools>>>clear private data) to keep you from seeing what they see. In order to stop this here is a list of free software you can use to keep their filthy minds back to watching cinemax.

  2. Step 2

    Use PicBlock.
Pickblock blocks porn images by detecting the amount of flesh tones in images. Since the software is not based on offensive keywords list or known URLs, PicBlock may not be a substitute for your content filtering software.

on 9/16/2009 Great article. Needs one more step.

Step 6: supervise your computer with a tool like SurfRecon pornography detection and deletion software. Everyone assumes that if you deploy a filter, your problem is solved. When it isn't.

A good pornography detection software tool can help you quickly determine if a computer, CD, DVD, thumb drive, external hard drive or other digital device/media has any pornography on it.

on 7/20/2009 This is good advice, especially for parents of younger teens and tweens.

Five stars.

on 6/13/2009 Why not just tell them they aren't allowed to go on the computer? Do you think blocking them on the home computer will stop them? This prevents nothing, it increases curiosity.
