Selling your items on eBay is a fun and profitable way to make extra cash, but sometimes it is necessary to edit an eBay listing. Perhaps you forgot an important detail, left out the measurements or made an error in the description. Maybe you need to revise the selling price or change the auction to one with a reserve. Whatever the reason, editing your auction is simple. Just follow the steps below.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • An eBay account
  • A listed item

Step1
Sign into your eBay account and click on your "My eBay" link.
Step2
Look under the My eBay Views and find the link that reads Selling. Click on that link.
Step3
Locate the item that you want to edit and select the link.
Step4
Make the Revise Your Listing page appear by clicking on the pull down menu. It is located under the column that reads Action. Choose the link that reads Revise and click on it.
Step5
Edit your auction on the page that appears called the Revise Your Auction.
Step6
Complete your edits and click on the button that reads Save and Continue.
Step7
Preview your edits and click on the button that reads Save Changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • When a section on the Revise Your Item page appears highlighted in gray, it means you are not able to revise that section.
  • Check out the link in Resources for more informaton on revising bid information on eBay.
  • The different aspects of your auction that you can revise depend on whether there is a bid on the item and the amount of time left on the listing.
  • You can't extend the length of time the auction runs after two hours have passed from the time the auction opened. You can't remove a bid and then edit your auction.
