How to Write Thank You Letters for Christmas Gifts
Writing a thank you letter is important, especially if you receive a gift and the person isn't present for you to thank in person. Even if your Christmas gifts are only from Santa, you can write him a thank you letter, too.

1
Open your Christmas gifts and put the tag that is on each gift with the present. If the present only says "to" and there isn't a "from," ask your parents who this present is from before you open it. They may say it is from them or they may say it is from Santa Claus, either way, you know who to send the thank you letter to. Keep some sticky notes and a pen beside you so you can mark these presents.

2
Buy thank you cards with preprinted sayings or blank ones. It is better to use blank thank you cards, so you have plenty of room to write your own thank you in your own words.

3
Make your own thank you cards. You can make a form letter to thank people for your Christmas gifts. Of course, you need to leave room to write a personal note for each particular present you received. You can set up a form letter by putting in the following information: "Dear...," "Thank you for...," "Thank you again, Name." This way you only need to put in who you are sending the letter to and the information about the gift you are thanking them for, including how useful it's going to be.

Use the store bought thank you cards the same way you used the form letters in Step 3. Address the person, thank them for the gift mentioning how you are going to use it and sign it.
