There are many circumstances in which you will need to resize a photo but cannot because you do not have photo editing software. The flauntR website is a free online service that allows you to edit photos without needing to have photo editing software. The resizing process is fairly simple and straightforward once you know the basics of how flauntR works.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the flauntR website and click on “editR” (see Resources below). This is the section of flauntR used for editing photos. You need to sign in if you are not auto-logged in by the system. Click on “Get Photos From PC,” and a box will slide up from the bottom of the screen.

  2. Step 2

Click on the “Browse for Files” button at the bottom of the box. Locate the photo you want to resize. Select it and click “OK.”

  3. Step 3

Use the “Select an Album” section to select which of your flauntR albums to upload the photo into. Now click on the “Upload” button. All of the photos in your chosen album will appear in the box once the photo has finished uploading to it.

  4. Step 4

Scroll through your album until you find the photo you want to resize. Click on the photo, and while holding down the mouse button, drag the photo to the workspace above and behind the box.

  5. Step 5

Click on the “Close” button indicated with downward-facing arrows in the upper-left corner of the box. This reduces the box to a bar along the bottom of your screen, giving you clear access to your photo.

  6. Step 6

Click on the “Resize” option located in the panel on the right side of the screen.

  7. Step 7

Click on the check box labeled “Keep Proportions.” Adjust the size of your photo with the slider bar or by manually typing the desired size into either the width or the height boxes. The other box will automatically adjust. Click on the “Apply” button once you are satisfied with the size and quality of your photo.

  8. Step 8

Save the image by using the “Save” button along the top of the screen. A “Save” box will pop up. This will save the image to one of your flauntR albums and is required before you can download your resized photo to your computer.

  9. Step 9

Download the photo using the “Download” button located along the bottom of the Save box. Select where to save your photo, then click the “Save” button.

  10. Step 10

Click on “OK” in the Download Completed box. Close out of flauntR by clicking on the “X” on the Save box. Then click on the “Log Out” option in the upper-right corner of your screen.

Tips & Warnings
  • To get a free account with flauntR, simply go to the flauntR website and select a feature such as “editR” to use. A registration/login box will pop up asking for your email address, desired user name and desired password. Fill it out and submit.
  • If you want to resize more than one photo, select and upload all of the photos at once. This will give you a queue in the reduced photos box. You may then resize them one at a time.
  • You can resize your photo by using the "Percentages" option in the resizing box. This changes the height and width numbers to 100 (percent). Use this option if you know the percentage of increase or decrease in size you need to make to your photo.
  • As indicated in the steps, before downloading your photo back onto your computer or disk, you must save every photo in one of your flauntR albums. Though your flauntR albums are private unless you choose otherwise, they are stored online where they may be hacked. You may wish to use software installed on your computer to resize private or otherwise personal photos.
