How to Install HP Printer Cartridges

Time for a new cartridge in your HP Printer? No problem. No need to wait for the printer repair guy to come do it for you. Avoid the charges by installing the HP printer cartridge all by yourself. It’s easy. Follow these simple steps to install your printer cartridge and get back to work in about five minutes.

Instructions

1. Make sure the HP printer is turned on. Open the print carriage access door. Wait for the carriage to stop moving.

2. Remove the old cartridge from the print carriage.

3. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging. Being careful to touch only the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape by using the pull tabs. Make sure you’ve removed all of the tape.

4. Slide the new print cartridge into the empty slot in the print carriage. Push the print cartridge forward until it clicks into place. Press down on the latch until it is securely closed.

5. Close the print-carriage access door. Print a test page to make sure your new cartridge is properly aligned.

Tips & Warnings

• You can recycle your old print cartridges.

• Ink will stain so don’t get it on your clothes, furniture, or anywhere else you don’t want permanent ink stains.

• Do not touch the copper area on the cartridge.

• You could damage the HP printer if the print carriage is not docked safely when you try to install the cartridge.

• If the print cartridge moves loosely in the carrier, it is not locked into place.
