Unclog Facial Pores With Jello

A facial mask is a tried and true method to unclog and cleanse your facial pores. A peel-off mask offers the added benefit of removing the dead cells from the skin's surface to reveal healthy, rejuvenated skin. While commercial peel-off facial masks are an expense that may strain many a budget, you can actually whip up a homemade treatment of your own quite inexpensively using Jello.

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Heat-resistant bowl
    • 1/2 cup juice
    • Plain gelatin
    • Microwave
    • Wash cloth
      • 1

Choose the fruit juices that is best suited for your skin type. Pour the juice into the heat-resistant bowl. Sprinkle one teaspoon of the gelatin into the juice. For dry skin use apple, peach, raspberry, pear or papaya juices. For oily skin use orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice, carrot juice or grapefruit juice

      • 2

Place the bowl into the microwave. Heat it on high until all the gelatin has completely dissolved into the juice.

      • 3

Remove the heated mixture from the microwave and place it in the refrigerator for about 15 to 20 minutes, where it will begin to firm up. Stir the mixture to check that it has a thick consistency, at which time your jello facial mask will be ready for use.

Place a warm, wet wash cloth against your face for fifteen minutes. Next, apply the Jello fruit mask to your face. Avoid your eyes and eyebrows as well as your hairline. Leave it on for about 20 minutes, until it is no longer tacky. As it dries, it will bond with the dull, dry skin cells and oils that clog and block your facial pores.

Peel off and discard the mask. Rinse off your face with cool water. This will remove any residual mask and tighten your pores as well.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Any leftover mask won't be reusable for cosmetic purposes, but it will certainly make a fine snack. Make a fresh batch each time you want to give yourself a facial.

    • If you use one of the juices for oily skin, be especially careful to avoid the eye area.

    • Instead of putting the Jello facial into the fridge to firm up, you can just leave it in a cool area until it gains the desired thick consistency.

    • Don't use your Jello facial mask more than once every 3 days, because it may risk over-exfoliating your skin.
