In ancient times, water was scarcely available. Olive oil was frequently used for personal care, such as washing skin and hair. Olive oil is still highly regarded today for it's ability to moisturize the skin and hair naturally, without chemicals or synthetic ingredients. If you want to condition your hair in a green, natural way, olive oil is the answer!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place a small amount of olive oil in the palm of your hand.

  2. Step 2

Work the olive oil into your hair.

  3. Step 3

Allow it to stay on your hair for at least 20 minutes. If your hair is very damaged, you may want to leave it on overnight.

  4. Step 4

Wash and dry your hair as usual.

Tips & Warnings
  • While waiting for the conditioner to do its work, you can cover your hair with a towel or a shower cap to prevent dripping.
  • Weekly conditioning will help keep your hair healthy.
  • If you are used to commercial conditioners, this will feel very different. When your hair is wet, it will not feel coated. This gives your hair deep conditioning that will last.
  • This may make your hair oily at the scalp. If this is a concern for your hair type, apply it only to the ends of the hair.

on 10/29/2008 Although olive oil is great, try sunflower oil. Personally, I prefer the effect.
