Oval shaped and box shaped eyes are two of the most common types of eyes drawn in anime. Oval eyes are very easy to draw and most closely mimic the shape of a real eye. Both shapes consist of a very simplistic oval shape, round cornea, and the use of small curving lines to form the eyelashes. Once an artist becomes accustomed to drawing half-ovals, the oval shaped eye is easy to draw.
