Self tanner is a great way to get that healthy glow of laying out in the sun without actually having to. For years people have know that the sun is bad for them and causes skin cancer. It is for this reason that many people have turned to self tanners. A self tanner is the only healthy and safe way to get a tan. Many people try to use self tanner with disastrous results. Their tans either come out blotchy or even orange. By following a simple procedure you can use self tanner to achieve an all over tan and not have to worry about these types of mistakes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 bottle self tanner
  • 1 bottle body scrub
  • 1 pair latex gloves
  • 2 towels
  1. Step 1

Apply a generous amount of body scrub to your body. Rub the scrub in a circular motion all over your body to remove dead skin cells. Pay special attention to your knees and elbows where dead skin cells build up the most.

  2. Step 2

Rinse the scrub off of your body. Make sure that you remove all of the granules of the scrub as well as any residue that it may leave behind on your skin that could interfere with the self tanner. Use a towel to dry your body off completely.

  3. Step 3

Place the second towel on the floor where you will be standing when you apply the self tanner. This is a precaution to catch any drips or spills that may occur. You can keep this towel to reuse this way every time that you apply self tanner.

  4. Step 4

Place the latex gloves onto your hands to protect them from the self tanner. Even the best tanner will turn the skin on the palms of your hands orange if it comes in contact.

  5. Step 5

Squeeze a quarter size amount of self tanner into the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together to evenly distribute the liquid on them. Gently rub the self tanner onto the skin starting at the top of your body and working your way down. Make sure to leave an even coat of tanner on your skin.

  6. Step 6

Add more self tanner to your hands as needed to coat your entire body. When finished remain standing on the towel for 20 mintues to allow self tanner to dry completely.
