Things You'll Need:
- Canopy
- Clothes racks
- Vintage clothes
- Table
- Signs
- Sales tags
-
Step 1
First sift through your vintage clothing and determine the price for each item. You can tag them to make it easier for people to learn the price as some people don't want to ask or you can just get an idea and give people the price when they ask. Now you know what your collection is worth and have an idea what you may expect to get for it.

Step 2
Next, visit your nearest flea markets. Ask vendors how they like it there, if it is busy, if they sell well. Talk with the people in charge and find out how much it cost to sell there and what you need. Sometimes you need a business license. Sometimes you need to bring your own canopy but sometimes they provide it. This will give you an idea if it is worth it to you.

Step 3
Once you have determined what and where you will sell, you need to determine how you will display it. Making an attractive sign and display will give you an air of professionalism and allow you to ask for better prices on your product. For vintage clothing you will need clothes racks that you can buy or make yourself. Beware of the one's you can get cheap at big box stores as they may not be able to withstand the wind and weather. Consider strapping dowels to the tent frame. Make sure you have enough hangers. You may also want a table for display of other items. And chairs for you to sit on. Consider constructing a dressing room but either way bring a full-length mirror.
-
Step 4
Be sure you know your item well when people ask you for the era, size or fabric of the clothing. If you look like you don't know what you are selling you may not make the sell or you may get low balled on the price.

Step 5
At this stage you probably aren't equipped to take credit cards but consider ahead of time if you are wiling to take personal checks or not. Will you take out of town checks and for how much?
