A romantic weekend getaway can be a wonderful experience and a great jump-start to your married or dating life. However, you do want to follow a few simple steps and use some planning to make sure it’s the best experience ever for you and your partner.

From Quick Guide: Weekend Getaway 101
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plan ahead. You’ll want to plan ahead on where you want to go and what you’ll want to do on your romantic weekend getaway. If you are planning to travel, you’ll want to make sure of the time it’ll take to get there and how long you’ll be staying once you arrive. Will it be a quiet time together or something with more people that you both enjoy doing? This is something to consider when you are planning ahead.

  2. Step 2

Think about cost. Is an expensive getaway in your budget? It’s not always necessary to spend an exorbitant amount on a weekend getaway but you will need to factor in the cost of fuel for your vehicle or the cost of a plane ticket if you’re going somewhere far away from home. You’ll want to think about cost of accommodations and spending money as well as food and entertainment. You can plan a smaller scale getaway or if you can afford to, go all out and spend as much as you like. Either way, you’ll need to decide on the cost you’re willing to spend on this adventure.

  3. Step 3

Consider the location. Location is everything, or so they say. You’ll want to think about where you plan to take this getaway. It can be as far away as another country or as close as your same town. Some people like to take trips in their area but to a motel or hotel, perhaps a cabin or inn. It’s dependent upon your budget and what you and your partner find enjoyable.

  4. Step 4

Think about your partner. What would he or she like to do on this getaway? If you’re planning a romantic getaway, you have to take into consideration what your partner enjoys as well as yourself. Perhaps you’re considering a ski getaway but your partner hates the cold. This is something you will need to think about when planning your trip.

  5. Step 5

Take accessories. A weekend getaway isn’t romantic enough without something that displays your romantic side. A bottle of wine and roses is a thought. Maybe you or your partner would like sexy lingerie or sensuous oils. The sky is the limit on accessorizing your trip. Just make sure it’s something your partner will enjoy as well.

  6. Step 6

Enjoy yourself. A romantic getaway should be a fun time, not a time to worry over anything. Make sure you let things take care of themselves back home, which is why a little planning and a few simple steps can make your weekend flawless.
