How to Permanently Clear Internet Search History

Clearing your Internet search history can help your experience online go a little more quickly. So don't let you computer get bogged down from years of Internet history; instead clear the search history quickly and easily.

      Turn on your computer, make sure it is connected to the Internet, and open an Internet Explorer window.

      Click on "Tool" in the toolbar and select "Delete Browser History." This will open a separate window that shows five sections of browser history you can delete.

      Choose what part of the browser history you want deleted. Your options should be "Temporary Internet Files," "Cookies," "History," "Form Data," and "Passwords." At this point you can delete them individually or to delete everything simply click "Delete All."

      If you select "Delete All" a warning box will open to make sure you want to delete everything. Click "Yes" to continue. This will delete all browser history, but it will not delete favorites or subscribed feeds.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have passwords that you have the system remember and want to keep them, do not use the "Delete All" option. Instead delete each section and skip the delete password option.
