How to Make a Butterfly Net

But before you run out to the store, keep in mind that you can make a butterfly net of your own in no time. The supplies you need are likely to be strewn about your home anyway, so why not save a few bucks and build it yourself?

Things You'll Need

  • Wire coat-hanger
  • Wire cutters
  • Cheesecloth
  • Stapler
  • Duct tape
  • Stick or broom handle

Instructions

      Bend a wire coat hanger into an oval or circular shape. Use wire cutters to snip off any extra that you don't need.

      Fold a piece of cheesecloth over on itself so that you have a triangular pocket.

      Staple the cheesecloth together at the seam where the two edge come together.

      Place the cheesecloth pocket on a table, then set the wire hanger oval on top of it.

      Fold the edges of the cheesecloth over the wire oval, and staple them together all the way around the loop.

      Attach the net to a stick or broom handle with some duct tape for added length.
