Avocados are chock-full of monounsaturated fats. These same fats that are such a healthful addition to your diet also do wonders for your skin. Avocados also contain vitamins such as B and E and lots of amino acids, and will leave your skin looking refreshed and feeling soft, smooth and fabulous. Things You'll Need

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tsp. apple-cider vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tsp. olive oil
  • Small bowl
  • Medium bowl
  • Spoon
  • Whisk
  • Paring knife
  • Headband or towel
  • Washcloth

Instructions

      Slice the avocado in half lengthwise, slicing through to the pit. Hold one half of the avocado in each hand and gently twist the halves apart. Remove the pit with the spoon and discard or set aside. Scoop the fruit from the avocado and place it in the medium-sized bowl.

      Separate the egg, pouring the egg white into the small bowl. Set aside or discard the egg yolk. Using the whisk, beat the egg white until frothy.

      Mash the avocado in the medium bowl with the spoon. Once the fruit is thoroughly mashed, add the apple-cider vinegar, egg white and olive oil. Mix all of the ingredients with the spoon until well blended.

      Place the headband on your hair to move it away from your face, or wrap your hair in a towel. Use your hands to apply the avocado mask to your face, throat and neck. Apply a thick layer.

      Leave the mask on your face for 20 minutes. Use a washcloth and clean, warm water to rinse away the mask and reveal your soft, glowing skin!

Tips & Warnings

  • Go all out and place a cucumber slice over each eye while you wait for your mask to do its work.
