How to Stop a Dog from Eating Cat Poop
One of the grossest things you may ever see is a dog eating poop. There's a name for this sort of behavior: dog coprophagia. Coprophagia is most common in puppies but can occur at any time in a dog's life. There are ways, though, to get your dog to stop eating cat poop or any type of poop. Proven techniques and even medicine a vet can prescribe can help your dog quit this nasty habit.
Instructions

-
1
Feed your dog twice a day and make sure he gets enough exercise, including regular walks.
-
2
Keep the cat's litter box clear of poop.
-
-
3
Put vinegar and cayenne pepper on the feces to discourage the dog from eating it.
-
4
Purchase a chemical solution you can feed your cat to discourage coprophagia. The main ingredient is glutamic acid, which causes the poop to become bitter to taste.
-
5
Visit your vet for a prescription for glutamic acid or other medications that have been clinically proven to do the trick.

Tips & Warnings
If you think commands might work for your dog, try an obedience class offered by the city you live in or hosted at one of the larger pet stores.
Some dogs may have to remain on the prescription medication for quite some time, and when they stop taking the pills, they may go back to eating cat poop.
Punishing your dog or getting angry does not work. It can make the situation worse.

I thought that I had broken his habit of eating cat poop, "surprise surprise" Caught my Jack Russel Dachshund mix in the act this evening on the couch of all places! Yes I was mad, shown my anger, squirted him with the water-bottle sprayer, then pointed to the cat box and screamed..."BAD BAD BAD DOG! Of course he quietly disappeared...then 30 minutes later he started vomiting, and wow did he vomited, he vomited up all over our bed, then on to the couch...talk about a big mess, there wasn't anything I could do to help sooth his stomach, felt sorry for the boy. He is three years old, gets plenty of food for his size, both dry and canned dog food, he begs for scrapes and once in awhile he some of that too but not often, and so my guess perhaps he has been eating cat food all along behind my back then. I been wondering why the cat box been rather cleaned lately. I often been told it...
