Sandy Point Lighthouse Just Offshore

Located among the eastern pylons of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Sandy Point State Park is the closest official beach to the greater Washington D.C./Baltimore area. Sailboats and cargo ships share the bay with the rust colored Sandy Point Lighthouse; a substantial sized buoy supporting an actual two-story house. The beach sand is somewhat coarser then that over at Rehoboth, but still warm and comfortable. The Maryland Seafood Festival sets up tent in early September.
