How to Draw Metal Sonic

Metal Sonic is the most popular villain from Sonic the Hedgehog. He is the mecha version of Sonic. He is slightly simpler to draw than the regular Sonic because his body is mostly made up of simplistic shapes. Also, if the artist makes a mistake while drawing him, that mistake could be blamed on the faulty design by Eggman, the character who created him.

Instructions

Drawing Metal Sonic

1. 

   Draw a large oval that has a smaller circle at the bottom. This is metal Sonic’s head and body.

2. 

   On the sides of the small circle, add two rounded triangles. Add two small tubes to those triangles that have circles at the end. After adding the circles, add two more tubes; these are Metal Sonic’s arms. At the bottom of the small circle, add two more tubes.

3. 

   At the ends of your arm tubes, add two squares/rectangles. These are Metal Sonic’s hands. At the bottom of the leg tubes, add two more leg tubes that bend toward the right.

4. 

   Add two triangles at the top of the primary oval; these are Metal Sonic’s ears. Next, add thumb triangles to the hand indications, and another rectangle to the ends of the hand indications for fingers. Add two rectangles each to the ends of Metal Sonic’s legs. One set of rectangles goes horizontal, the other set vertical.

5. 

   Draw Metal Sonic’s face. His head looks like Darth Vador’s helmet, so if you need to, look at Darth Vador for helmet help. Metal Sonic’s eyes almost resemble goggles, so create goggles for eyes with his pupils very close together. Below the pupils, add a triangle for a nose.

6. 

   Now you’re going to create Metal Sonic’s belly. In the center, create another circle with a circle in the center of that. Color the inner most circle black and draw lines radiating from the black circle to the end of the second circle. Darken your rounded triangles, these are the shoulders and square the arm tubes.

7. 

   For Sonic’s hands, create a 3D square using the hand guidelines you created in step 3. Add sharp, angles to the finger guidelines you created.

8. 

   Darken your leg tube lines and add “muscle” (widen) your bottom leg tubes. Round the first set of rectangles you added at the base of those tubes and add circles to right of them to give a 3D look. The next set of rectangles will be turned into shoes, so make them angular and pointy at the bottom and add secondary lines for depth. Here are Sonic’s shoes.

9. 

   Erase the guidelines you created and color your image. You have officially drawn metal Sonic.
