Things You'll Need:
- Sedu flat iron
-
Step 1
Clean and condition the hair before straightening. A Sedu flat iron will make greasy hair look even greasier. Since a flat iron applies great amounts of heat that can potentially damage hair, use Thermasilk or similar products that use the heat to condition hair.
-
Step 2
Dry hair completely. Using an iron on wet or damp hair will cause damage. Allowing the hair to dry naturally is the healthiest for hair. If you must blow dry it, use a naturally bristled round brush and point the air downward.
-
Step 3
Use a small Sedu iron. Larger irons are awkward to use, not as effective and will leave creases in the hair. A small Sedu iron takes longer to use but is much more successful in achieving a sleek hairstyle.
-
Step 4
Separate the hair into small sections. This will take a while, but will work better and make the hair look more natural. The sections should not be more than two inches. Thin hair may need only eight sections while thick hair may require twenty.
-
Step 5
Finger comb hair instead of using a brush. A brush will create static and unwanted volume. If you must use something to comb the hair, use a pick or wide toothed comb.
