    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Pine Cones
    • Matches
    • 5 candles
      • 1

Buy or gather several branches of evergreens.

      • 2

Choose a flat surface where the branches will remain undisturbed.

      • 3

Lay branches flat and make a circle.

      • 4

Add pinecones and other symbols of Christmas if you wish. The wreath can be as simple or ornate as you want.

      • 5

Place four candles in the circle. Tradition says that three candles are purple and one is pink.

      • 6

Light one candle on the first Advent Sunday, two candles on the second Advent Sunday, and so on.

      • 7

Place a red or white candle in the center of the wreath on Christmas day, and light all five candles.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Place the candles in small candleholders to anchor them securely.

    • Evergreen branches are flammable, especially when they begin to dry out toward the last Advent Sunday. Take care with candles and flame.
