How to Use a Stopwatch

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Stopwatches
  1. Step 1

    Hold the stopwatch in one hand with your thumb on the top button.

  2. Step 2

    Press the button twice in rapid succession to clear the previous time.

  3. Step 3

    Press and release the button once to start timing.

  4. Step 4

    Let the watch run until you wish to stop it.

  5. Step 5

    Press the button one more time to stop the clock.

  6. Step 6

    Repeat as desired.

Tips & Warnings
  • If timing a runner, stand as close to the start/finish line as possible.
  • If timing is crucial, have more than one person timing the event.
