A flute is designed to be held by the stem, NOT the glass part. If you wrap your hand around the glass, it will warm it up - and it's supposed to be chilled! Holding the stem will show that you really know how to treat Champagne!

If you are pouring champagne for a large number or do not want to keep moving back and forth between a few glasses 'charge' the glasses first. This means put a small amount in each glass (1cm) and then pour the correct measure, this will prevent too much fizzing and will save time and champagne!

When pouring the champagne, place your right thumb under the bottle in the recess and your four fingers on the outside of the bottle facing upward.
