Start a karaoke night in your very own home. You can have friends and family over and get everyone together once a week for some fun and some laughter. A karaoke party can be a blast, whether or not you can sing well. Learn how to start your very own karaoke night and have the time of your life.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start by planning what night you want to do a karaoke night. Usually the best nights to choose would be a Thursday or during the weekend because people work the rest of the week. Sometimes people are still comfortable with going out on a Thursday.

  2. Step 2

Choose who you will want to have in this group on this night. Whether it is friends or family or both, it is good to have a set guest list to begin your karaoke nights with.

  3. Step 3

Invite your friends with invitations and see what they say. Some people might be excited and other people might be afraid they will get pushed into singing. Make sure it is clear on your invite that no peer pressure is allowed.

  4. Step 4

Get some snacks and drinks. Simple snack type foods, like chips, eggrolls, or chicken wings can be convenient. If children will not be present at this karaoke night every week, then you can celebrate with some cocktails and be silly like you are the kids. Have plenty of beverages, including water, for thirsty singers.

  5. Step 5

Get a karaoke machine from a music department store and set up your television room for guests and singing space. Have fun and sing your lungs out.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consider setting up the room to look like a mini club, with lights and other props.
  • Choose a playlist that people will like. You can include old classics and new favorites. You can also choose a theme to center your playlist and food around, or just be eclectic.
  • You can also do group singing if no one is interested in doing solos or to coax shy people into singing.
