New Year's Eve may seem a bit boring if you're pregnant because you can't drink alcohol or do some things you used to do. But there are plenty of options for pregnant women on this night, even if you are almost to your due date. If your pregnancy is high risk, clear your plans with your doctor before going out.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Have a quiet evening at home with your significant other. Have a candlelit dinner and watch the ball drop on TV. Or get take-out and watch a movie while lounging on the couch.
Step2
Host a potluck dinner for your friends and family. Traditional foods include black-eyed peas, collard greens, sauerkraut, pork and corn bread.
Step3
Find venues in your town that are having New Year's Eve celebrations. Some cities offer concerts or fireworks. If your doctor feels comfortable with you going out of town or taking a plane, explore options in other cities.
Step4
Do something you might not get a chance to do for awhile after the baby is born, like take a romantic trip with your significant other. Relish the time you have to be alone before the baby arrives.
Step5
Go out to dinner with friends or family. Restaurants tend to stay open late on New Year's Eve. Be the designated driver for friends who drink alcohol.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you start to feel tired or overwhelmed, sit down for awhile. If it doesn't pass, it's okay to bow out early.
  • If you think you may be having a complication from your pregnancy or going into labor while you're out, call your doctor or go to the hospital right away.
