How to Iron Backing to Freezer Paper

Instructions

1. Prepare the materials. To make the process easier, pre-cut your fabric and freezer paper before attempting to iron. Ensure that your iron is set to a medium heat setting.

2. Look for the shine. Freezer paper has a dull side and a shiny side. For the purpose of this project, place the paper on a flat surface with the shiny side facing up.

3. Hold it down. Chances are, your freezer paper came on a roll and has a tendency to curl up. Place a weighted object on each side to prevent the paper from moving.

4. Iron it on. Place a piece of muslin fabric over the freezer paper that you have just laid out. Then run the iron over it several times.

5. Wait for it stiffen. Continue ironing until the freezer paper and fabric feel stiff. Once this happens, the backing has been stabilized.
