Instructions

    • 1

Purchase a small white onion and a bottle of a clear flavored Gatorade from your local supermarket. You'll need these items to charge your iPod.

    • 2

Take a screwdriver and poke a hole on each side of the onion. You'll want to poke a hole deep enough to penetrate the onion completely on each side.

    • 3

Pour the Gatorade into a bowl or measuring cup. Pour the entire 16 ounce bottle into the container. You need a big enough container to hold the onion. Place the onion in the container of the Gatorade and allow it to soak for 1/2 hour.

    • 4

Dry off the onion with a clean cloth or paper towels after you remove it from the container of Gatorade. Put the onion in a cup to hold it steadily.

    • 5

Take the USB cable and connect it to your iPod. Puncture the onion with the other end of the USB cable. You'll notice that your iPod will start charging as if it was connected to a traditional power source. Continue charging the iPod for 15 minutes.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use another type of drink containing electrolytes besides Gatorade. Try the store brand or PowerAde as well for charging.
