on 9/16/2009 I disagree with Herbb completely!! You should definately do some research about the party outfit, but I found I got 'more' for my gold at the party than was quoted at a local jewelry store! And most people understand that when you host a 'candle party' or 'tupperware party' or whatever, that the host is making a percentage... that's just the nature of these home parties. I'll share my positive experience here: We just had a gold party fundraiser with VIPgoldparty.com which was fantastic. We raised over $5000 for our non-profit orgainization and have no doubts about our choice to do this type of event. You can check these guys out at http://www.vipgoldparty.com Not sure about your area of the US though, but for our group it worked out great.

on 8/3/2009 Well, I'm not sure who got ripped off by the "gold party" people, but I sure did not. You can really come out good if you know who you are dealing with.
I recently went to a party but before I went I took exactly what I was wanting to sell to a wholesale jewelry store not far from my home. I was told $320.00 for the lot. I knew going into the party that if I did not get that much, I was going back to the jewelers. At the party they said $360.00 and I was as happy as could be. It was a bunch of almost nothing and I was thrilled with what I got. They also take gold dental bridges, etc. I'm sold on the parties only because I've not met one person yet who has not gotten a great deal. 5*'s

on 4/16/2009 I would rather just use the Silver and Gold Exchange. They send a Fedex Agent to your door to pick up your stuff and give you a receipt. They pay more than the others and pay fast. Best of all, they post the prices they pay right on their website at http://SilverAndGoldExchange.com They have an affiliate program also, which is a lot easier than hosting a party.

on 4/16/2009 A "gold party" is the SUREST way to not only get the least amount possible for your gold, but for a pittance you are also getting your friends ripped off! You will get a percentage for luring your friends to the con artist who will pay them pennies on the dollar for their gold. These outfits are thriving right now because they capitalize on the trust your friends place in you. The idea is that if you "host" the party it must be legitimate. WRONG! If your friends find out after the fact that you set them up to be taken, you'll need to find new friends to sell out for the next party.
