How to Find the Mandibular Angle Pressure Point

The mandibular angle pressure point is a sensitive point on the human body. If slight pressure is placed on this point, pain can result. As such, it is often a target in martial arts such as taekwondo and in police training to combat aggressive behavior.

Instructions

    How to find the mandibular angle pressure point

  1. Step 1

    Locate your earlobe.

  2. Step 2

    Locate your mandible, or jawbone.

  3. Step 3

    Place a single finger just below the earlobe on the neck, right behind the jawbone.

  4. Step 4

    Apply slight pressure. This should elicit moderate pain radiating down the jaw.

  5. Step 5

    Adjust your finger a little and try again if you do not feel any pressure or pain.

Tips & Warnings
  • Applying pressure to the nerve located at the mandibular angle pressure point can elicit pain. Use caution when finding this pressure point.
