How to Make Candy Cane Reindeer Ornaments

Use candy canes to make Christmas ornaments for your tree.

Candy cane reindeer ornaments are among the easiest Christmas crafts to make. Imagine creating reindeer out of candy canes that will hang from a tree or make a sweet dessert. They are cheap and simple for kids to make.

Things You'll Need

• Candy canes
• Pipe cleaners
• Googly eyes
• Glue or hot glue gun
• Pom-pom

Instructions

1. Take the candy canes, still in their wrappers, and wrap a brown pipe cleaner (or your color choice for the antlers) around the hook. Twist it around the candy cane once in the middle of the pipe cleaner, and point the two sides out at opposite angles.

2. Take a second pipe cleaner and cut two small pieces from it. Wrap one about 3/4 of the way up one part of the pipe cleaner attached to the candy cane. Let it stick out at an angle as well. This will make three points for your antler. Repeat on the other side.

3. Glue the googly eyes onto the candy cane with white glue or a hot glue gun. Put them slightly down from the antlers, where the hook of the candy cane starts to straighten out.

4. Glue a pom-pom for the nose onto the end of the hook, on the front side. It should be below the eyes. And now you have cute reindeer for Christmas.

• Be careful with the hot glue gun and never leave children alone with it.
