1
Get to know your new colleagues. Introduce yourself and follow up on remembering people's names. Invite a coworker to lunch or take them out for drinks at a nearby restaurant or bar.
-
2
Be impressive, but don't kiss up. There is nothing worse than the office prima donna, a grown-up "teacher's pet" will you. Do your job, but refrain from going above and beyond simply to impress someone.
-
-
3
Be yourself. People can sense flattery and flakiness from a mile away. Be kind, but real. Your colleagues will appreciate your honesty.
-
4
Come in on time and leave when you're supposed to. Until you're accustomed to an office setting, it's wise to adhere to the set office hours.
-
5
Be helpful. If your boss needs a fax sent or a cup of coffee picked up, offer to do it. It couldn't hurt to get on their good side.
-
6
Ask your colleagues for advice. Everyone likes giving advice and the more you reach out to your coworkers, the more likely they will be to return the favor.

Tips & Warnings
Always follow up on emails and missed phone calls. It's not only essential to your work performance, it's courteous.
Never badmouth a coworker when you're new. It may go through the grapevine right to that individual.
