The United States Postal Service (USPS) takes care of an endless amount of mail and packages. If you send and receive mail for your business (or personally), you can really benefit from using an online account with the post office. There are so many different things you can do with an online USPS account, once you know how to use it. An online USPS account can be very beneficial to you by saving tremendously in the amount of time required to do all of your shipping and mailing of papers and items. Read on to learn how to use an online post office account.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet connection
  1. Step 1

Open the United States Postal Service website (see Resources below for a direct link). If you do not already have an account with USPS online, create one. Sign in to your online account. Click Sign In on the upper-right side of the page. This will open your Options page.

  2. Step 2

Go shopping with your USPS account. You have access to an abundant amount of stamps and various other supplies from the online Postal Store. You can easily order them for fast delivery, so you do not even have to leave your office or go to the post office to get them. Click on the provided link for the store to gain access to a large selection of stamps, envelopes, shipping scales, rubber stamps, stationary, shipping boxes, forms, labels and a large variety of items “for fun,” “for collecting” and “for education.” You can easily order any of these items.

  3. Step 3

Get your shipping needs taken care of. With your online USPS account, you have the ability to create shipping labels for all of your packages, request package pickup or complete required customs forms for international shipping. You can quickly do any of these by selecting the links under Prepare to Ship on your Options page.

  4. Step 4

Personalize letters and cards. There are three options offered for creating customized cards (greeting, gift or post cards), letters and flyers for your business. Click on the links provided under Create and Mail Letters and Cards on your Options page to see the possible choices. Once you click on the links, you will be able to begin the process needed to complete each of them.

  5. Step 5

Use other USPS services. You can also use your online account to change your address, set up a Post Office Box Account or request your mail to be held. You will find all of these available by clicking Home on the upper-right of your Options page and looking under Receiving Mail. Other options on this page include finding zip codes, postage calculation, post office locations, and tracking.
