How to Celebrate an Adoption
Celebrating an adoption is a great way to welcome a new family member with grand style. It gives parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles a chance to meet the new family member.Whether the adopted child is a baby or an older child, starting a tradition of celebrating the day a child officially became a part of the new family should become a yearly event.

1
Order invitations online, or visit a party store to get invites made for the adoption celebration day. Try to plan at least two months in advance to give your guests time to plan for the event.
-
2
Register at the store(s) of your choice, just in case people ask what gifts they should bring. Pick a range of products priced at different price points, so people have a choice of what to buy.
-
-
3
Purchase several picture frames and fill them with pictures of your new family. Place these pictures throughout your home for the party. You can even make the gift table into a centerpiece for all the photos.
-
4
Order a cake with a photo of your new family printed on the icing.
-
5
Involve existing children in the entire process. Make sure they know this celebration is for the family, not just for the new child.
-
6
Start a scrap book of all the photos you take from that day. Have the kids help you assemble this book. Keep record of each celebration of each year. Build upon this happy time each year. Make it a different date than the new child's birthday, so this can be about your new family and not the new child.
