I bought a palm phone and wanted to run a java program but there is no support at palm.com for this. I have found a java resource that is free and easy to install.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • web access
  • palm desktop (in windows or mac) to install software

Step1
If you need the Java files for your Palm, I have found and made them available for you, follow the download link in resources.
Step2
I searched far and wide and found a nice little utility that does the trick. Point your browser to:
http://www.jtgl.org/modules/news/
Read about the software and see if it is what you are looking for.
Java Tiny Gfx Library (JTGL) is a graphic fundation framework (a graphics/gaming api) that will allow easy deployment/porting of applications/games on many environments: J2SE,J2ME/MIDP(Nokia,Siemens,BlackBerry),SuperWaba(Palm,PPC,Symbian),ExEn,DoJa,etc..
Step3
Next visit the link below to access the project at Sourceforge.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jtgl/
Step4
To go straight to the download page:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=86360
Download the file and unzip it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Unzip the download files onto a folder on your desktop so you can find them later to upload them to your Palm treo
  • This as most any other software comes without warranty
