Instructions

  1. Practice

    • 1

Practice your point of view before a meeting. If you know the objective and topics to be discussed before a meeting, you can practice what you want to say ahead of time.

    • 2

Communicate with confidence. If you are speaking timidly, your point will come across as being uncertain. Practice speaking assertively and rather than saying "You think you know something" say,"You know based on the following reasons."

    • 3

Get constant feedback on your progress, whether it's on your job performance or when taking on an unfamilar task. If you have a friend that is an extrovert he can provide tips for you.

    • 4

Play on your strengths. Once you discover your strengths then you can leverage them to your advantage. Don't see being an introvert as a weakness but as a part of who you are that can be developed beyond your current personal comfort zone.

    • 5

Set aside time for networking and make sure that you initiate some interactions at the events. You can initate the conversation with a simple 'hello' and or ask questions to get to know the person.

    • 6

Pace yourself. Sometimes you may want to revert back to being introverted when a situation or circumstance is uncomfortable to you. You must be patient and continue the process of becoming more outgoing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Diversify your friendships and work relationships. Step outside the box and mingle with people who are not introverts so that you can learn from them and vice versa.
