How to Heal Fungal Infections in the Armpit

Fungal infections of the armpit are irritating and embarassing. Read on to learn how to handle the problem. Also watch it carefully, as it could be something other than a fungus. If it does not improve consult a dematologist.

      Keep the area dry. This means no baths, showers, or swiming. Be sure to wear a cotton undershirt, and change it regularly, especially if the weather is warm. Moisture encourages the growth of fungi.

      Treat the itching with over the counter anti-itching creams. Use these medications sparingly at first, until you are sure that they are helping and not making the itching worse.

      Consult a dermatologist if the condition does not improve within a few days, or if it gets worse. The doctor can prescribe anti-fungal medication, and will also be better equipped to identify the source of your condition.
