  • These companies and non profit organizations will help a disabled individual find a job just like a regular employment agency would help a un-disabled worker. While they are better informed and have more experience finding jobs for disabled workers, there is no guarantee they will find you a job. In most companies you will go through a job interview just like everyone else, the establishments are there to give you a advantage the individual must show the interviewer they are the best candidate for the job.
  • Companies such as vocational rehabilitation, can give business a tax incentive to hire disabled workers.
  • Most of the time you do not have to be eligible for Social Security disability to qualify.
  • Never pay for a job.

on 6/30/2009 numerous(in the thousands) resumes to employers that are advertising for computer drafters, as a contract employee. I've received exactly zero responses. I have capabilities to run a business, the VR and the SBA had absolutely no problems with my abilities. The ONLY comment that they had was that I didn't have "enough income to qualify for any help". Since the disabled community is the most poverty stricken group, I believe that, all by itself, is discriminating.
Again, if you have any actual help, please post that information on this website.

on 6/30/2009 amylaine,
I do believe that I am understanding the counselor (and again, there is only one), when she is saying that she is refusing any help whatsoever.
Yes, I do agree that home programs work, IF you have the money to get a business for yourself, or if you have the education to do accounting, or health care, or graphic design or some of the other vocations that are being advertised, or if you want a hobby. I don't the money to get more education, I have no way to support myself while I get more education. Unfortunately, the government has ONLY these programs, which, if you can read the statistics, DO NOT WORK.
I do have 38 years in the Engineering Tech field. I have extensive education. Throughout of those years I've received numerous accolades for my work. I do have mathematical and spatial abilities. I am able to do just about everything that everyone else does. I have sent numer...

on 6/30/2009 Ralph again I am sorry you are having trouble with the process. And yes I do know what Aphasia (loss of comprehension of speech and written form) this is why I am trying to work with you. I do not believe you are fulling understanding what your counselors are saying or how the process works. Work at home programs can only work if you have the ability to do them. Counselors that work in the field can help you find that skill if you do not know it. Disability counselors work with the skills you have if you do not have marketable skills they can not help. What type of skills do you have that you would like to use at a work from home job.

on 6/30/2009 A small fee for endless scams is just too much, since I don't have the money to survive. The companies that I have contacted are ALL scams, charging much more than a person can earn from. This is why I'm seeking a VIABLE job or business.
For the third time the VR and the SBA ARE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES, and they are refusing any help whatsoever, because I don't have "enough money to qualify" for any help whatsoever from them. This a rural community so there is only one counselor. I've contacted their bosses and they are still refusing any help whatsoever. And yes, it does COST (and it is extremely expensive for a person without enough money to survive on) and yes, the disabled person has to pay for this.
By "freelance career" I believe you are trying to say blogging. AGAIN, I'm UNABLE to profit by doing this because I have aphasia. PLEASE use your Google, Wikipedia does have an adequat...
