For one of the best desserts around, try your hand at some strawberry pretzel Jell-O salad. This unique combination of sweet and salty flavors will be a hit not only with your taste buds, but with anyone else who tries it.
Things You'll Need
- 2 cups of crushed pretzel sticks
- 3/4 cup of melted butter
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 cup sugar
- 8 oz. Cool Whip
- 1 6 oz. pkg. Strawberry Jell-O
- 2 cups of boiling water
- 2 10 oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries, partially thawed
- 9-by-13 inch pan
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the crushed pretzels with the melted butter and sugar.
Press into the bottom of the pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for a metal pan, or 325 degrees for a glass pan, for eight minutes.
Take out and let cool completely.
Beat the cup of sugar into the cream cheese.
Fold the cool whip in.
Take the whole mixture and spread over the pretzels. Set aside.
Mix the Jell-O into the boiling water and mix until dissolved. Add the frozen strawberries and stir gently.
Set that mixture aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
Pour over the Jell-O/cheese mixture.
Chill until firm.
Tips & Warnings
- Make sure your pretzel Jell-O salad sets firmly before cutting it.
- You can use any brand of gelatin.
