Nothing is more creative or beautiful than a duct tape rose. They make excellent gifts, and they're easy to create. These kind of roses stay in bloom year round. Whether you're brightening up a room, or simply trying something new, this is a great craft idea for all ages. You'll never think of duct tape as old and boring again!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Choose duct tape in the color of your choice. Any color can create a beautiful rose. Picking one that is best with a certain color scheme is fantastic.

  2. Step 2

Cut several strips of duct tape that are approximately 2 inches long. These will be used to create the petals of your rose.

  3. Step 3

Take one edge of the duct tape, and fold it over so that some of the sticky part is left on the opposite side and the bottom. Take the opposite side, and fold it all the way to the opposite edge. This creates a point at the top. It will leave only the sticky side of the bottom exposed. This is a single petal.

  4. Step 4

Take one petal, and roll it around a green pipe cleaner to form the base. The pipe cleaner is your stem. Take another petal, and shape it around the base. You should adhere the sticky side to the base. Continue like this around the flower with more petals.

  5. Step 5

Each time you add a petal, make it a little higher than the row before it. Pull it outwards slightly after you've stuck it to the flower. This will make the flower look more open and realistic.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try other items for the flower stem, such as painted, round wooden sticks.
  • Make green petals to wrap around the stem for leaves.
  • Don't use too many petals, or your flower will be bulky.
