Things You'll Need:
- Cotton thread
-
Step 1
Brush your eyebrows straight up so you can assess the hairs you want to remove, as well as the shape you would like your brows to be.
-
Step 2
Cut off a 2 foot (24-inch) piece of thread. You can use any type of thread but cotton is recommended.
-
Step 3
Tie the ends of the thread together.
-
Step 4
Hold the circle of thread, using all your fingers and both thumbs, into a rectangular shape.
-
Step 5
Twist the thread circle around ten times, forming an X in the center.
-
Step 6
Place the thread around your fingers and push the wound section closer to one hand. You can do this by opening the fingers of one hand and closing the fingers of the opposite hand. Practice this motion a few times until it feels natural.
-
Step 7
Raise the thread to the eyebrow area and let the twisted portion rest near the hairs you want to remove.
-
Step 8
Move the twisted portion from side to side, using motion you practiced. The hairs will be caught in the twisted portion and removed. You may need to gently pull on the thread to remove them.
-
Step 9
Use this technique under, above and between the eyebrows. Take care to make the arch you wish.
-
Step 10
Soothe the area afterwards with a cool cloth or ice compress. The area may be sensitive and a bit reddish.
