The CPU houses the crucial components of a computer and when owners neglect to clean it, dust collects in the vents and the heat generated by the computer has nowhere to escape. • 2

Use the canned air to blow air through the computer CPU fan and any other air vents in the casing.

    • 3

Blow air around the internal components, starting at the top and blowing the air and debris towards the bottom. Finish blowing out all of the debris from the bottom of the unit.

Wipe the inside panel with a static-free cloth until it's free of all debris.

    • 6

Repeat the cleaning process every six to eight months on your computer's CPU. For CPU units that sit on the floor, in homes with have pets or around smoke, clean every three months.
