How to Get Into a Clique
When you notice a clique at school with kids that you think you'd get along with, use these basic tactics to work your way into the group. Although it may not be easy to join the ranks of the close-knit group, the effort will be worth it if you make a few lifelong friends.

1
Study the clique you're interested in to discover why they're such close friends. If those reasons make you feel uncomfortable or don't interest you, look for a new group to join.
-
2
Start talking to one of the members of the group if you share a class or have lockers beside one another. Establish what you have in common, help her with her homework or demonstrate how funny you are, for example. If you become friends with her, she may be eager to introduce you to the rest of the clique.

Sign up for activities where you'll be able to interact with members of the clique. Join the same clubs if they sound like fun. Find out if the kids volunteer at the school library or with any local charities. Discover where they eat lunch, hang out or work after school.
-
4
Find out what the other members of the clique are really like when you have the opportunity to talk to them. Consider if they put you at ease and make you feel welcome. At the same time, be yourself when you talk to them to ensure you're not putting on an act to become a part of the group.
-
5
Be enthusiastic when they discuss after school or weekend plans so they'll invite you. If you're getting along well, invite them to your house to hang out or plan a trip to the mall, movies or a cool local restaurant.

Tips & Warnings
Don't become a member of a clique just because its members are the "popular" kids in school. Ensure you have things in common and truly like them so you'll be able to fit in, have fun and be completely comfortable with them.
