Instructions

    • 1

Begin by swiping the brush through the mineral makeup and lightly brushing on to your entire face. Do not use powder yet. Avoid hairlines, eyelids, lips and any place you may already have hair.

    • 2

Look in the mirror and decide one of two things: is your nose too long or too wide? Begin with the white eye shadow for wide noses. You are going to apply this in small, short strokes over the sides or walls of your nose with your brush. Start at the widest part of the upper portion of your nose, going straight down to the top of your nostril flares. This makes your nose look thinner because the white color makes the width appear thinner due to the imbalance of color to the eye.

    • 3

Apply the powder to your entire face sparingly. This will diffuse the white color by spreading it over the nose, and covers the shock of the white eye shadow. Notice while you're doing this, you can see a remarkable difference once the width of your nose by blending the powder and eye shadow. Make sure you blend the areas around the corners of your nose so that there is not a buildup of make up.

Rub some of the light brown or tan eye shadow out of the container using a stiff bristled brush for longer noses. Looking in the mirror, start at the top of your nose, or between your eyes. Gently brush in a downward motion from the starting point down to the tip of your nose. You should only have this make up on the part of your nose that is called the dorsum, or the straight part of your nose that makes up the spine. The darker coloring makes your nose appear shorter because of the lighter skin tone around it.

Blend the coloring by rubbing lightly with your fingers from the top to the sides. You should not see a beginning or ending area of your eye shadow on the nose. Now apply the powder to your entire face, avoiding hairlines and your mouth. Gently rub it over your nose. Apply more to the sides of your nose than on the top where you just put eye shadow. Notice now how much shorter your nose looks.

Tips & Warnings

  • These are tricks that any beautician will tell you about. If you know one personally, have them to show you one time and from there you can do this on a daily basis. Once you get the hang of it, you won't have to use foundation to cover the rest of your face.
