You put a few dabs of perfume on in the morning, but by the end of the day all of the scent has disappeared. Instead of spraying yourself down a second time, why not try to find a way to prolong the scent from the moment you put it on? Make your perfume last

1. Apply a body lotion to your skin before you spray on your perfume. The scent tends to be absorbed into dryer skin faster, but if your skin is softer the scents lasts longer.

2. Layer your scents by using a lotion that matches your fragrance. This causes the fragrance to be absorbed in different parts of your body rather than just on several spots or on the top of your clothing.

3. Spray your perfume directly onto your hair. Hold up one section of your hair and spray the perfume and then add a second spritz to the top layer. The hair follicles hold the fragrance longer than your skin does because it has less natural oil, which can cause the scent to dissipate.

4. Dust your skin with a translucent face powder before you spray on the perfume. The powder absorbs any oils on the top layer of your skin, which can cause the scent to disappear.

5. Buy a stronger version of your favorite scent and use it everyday. If you typically use the eau de toilette version, go eau de Parfum version. The stronger the combination, the longer it will last.

• Dab the perfume on rather than using a sprayer. With a sprayer you may miss your target spot or lose a large portion of the scent.

• Put your perfume on your skin rather than on your clothing. Any laundry detergent you might use can cause the perfume to break down when it comes in contact with the fabric.

• Don’t use competing fragrances at one time. If your shampoo, lotion and perfume all have three different smells, none of them will come through.

• Don’t rub your wrists together after you spray on your perfume. This can rub off the scent before you even start your day.
