There are many advantages to audio computer programs like iTunes for the casual listen and the music fanatic alike. The software allows you to share, store and listen to your music. Most computers have enough memory so that users can have a large music library in a wide variety of genres. If you have an ample collection of tunes in your iTunes library, you may want to be able to listen to your own hand-picked selection of songs, or share this selection with others. Follow the steps below to use iTunes to create a Mix CD.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer
  • iTunes software installed
  • A blank CD

Use iTunes To Create a Mix CD

  1. Step 1

Create a new play list. Under the file tab, select “new play list," and title the play list however you see fit, for example, “summer mix ’08” or “my favorite songs."

  2. Step 2

Choose your songs. Browse through the iTunes library section until you see a track you wish to include in your mix CD. Click on the song once to highlight it. Next, click and drag the song into your recently titled play list. Repeat this step until all desired tracks have been added. To view the contents of your play list, simply click on its title.

  3. Step 3

Make sure the contents of your play list will fit on the CD. Most burnable CD’s have a memory of around 70MB, or eighty minutes. The total size of your play list will be displayed in the bar at the bottom of the iTunes play list, in both MB and minutes. If your play list is larger than the CD’s memory, you may want to delete tracks until the entire play list will fit onto the CD.

  4. Step 4

Insert the blank CD into the disc drive. In the play list section, click “burn CD” in the top right hand corner. When iTunes has finished, you have successfully used iTunes to create a mix CD!
